A PrezzeePay card is a digital-only card on the UnionPay network that you keep in the Prezzee app and use to pay in-store or online. It works like a prepaid card: you pay with it at the checkout, and the amount comes off your balance.
About the card

How do refunds from a store work?
The store starts the refund at the store's discretion. Once it's processed, it shows in green as a + Refund in your transactions.
Holds and declined payments
What is a hold (pre-authorisation)?
A hold is a temporary lock a store places on some of your balance before taking the final payment. Hotels and car rental companies usually hold an estimated amount. Shops, cinemas and restaurants usually hold the exact amount.
While a hold is in place, that money shows as pending, and your available balance is lower than your total balance.
How long does a hold last?
If the store doesn't finalise the charge, the hold is released automatically within 7 days.
Why was my card declined when I still have money on it?
A store may have a hold on part of your balance, which lowers the amount you can spend right now. Your payment may also have gone over your daily spending or transaction limit.
Why was a store's final payment declined?
To protect you, we block a final charge that's much higher than the original hold. The original hold is released within 7 days. Contact the store to sort out the bill or pay another way.
Didn't work?
If your payment didn't go through, check that:
- your available balance covers the payment, including any holds
- the payment is within your daily spending and transaction limits
- your card can be used at that store
- on Android, NFC is turned on, and you're paying with Tap to Pay in the Prezzee app
- online, you entered the card details in the credit or debit card section
- the payment isn't a mail, telephone, recurring, or instalment payment
- your card hasn't expired.
